The past couple months have been a whirlpool of I-don't-know-what. Increasingly, I've been feeling the urge to resurrect The Breakfast Table in order to help myself make sense of the world around me. So henceforth, I am breaking PV free of the somewhat permanent hiatus that has kept it bed-ridden since the start of the decade (aka the 'teenies!').

I'm glad to say my gig-drought is also over with my attendance at Escape the Fate's sideshow, SOUNDWAVE (YES I KNOW!!!) and Pushover (overcast with a chance of lame), not to mention Band-Aid For Haiti which was a charity gig my class and I put on as part of our music curriculum. Apparently we've done the best out of all the classes, drawing a crowd of ~130 people and raising $850+ after expenses. So basically, this year is kicking off in spectacular (musical) fashion.
So, has my taste in music changed during my absence? Well, yes and no. I've stopped listening to house music as I've been too busy recently to keep up with the blog scene. Instead I've mostly been rediscovering the old stuff and completing my collection (some albums like to play hide 'n' seek).
As a little tribute to the great time that I've had at both Soundwave and the Escape The Fate sideshow, I'm going to dedicate the music in this post to two of my most favourite-ist bands.

You just can't get better than this six-piece pop-punk outfit featuring two amazing vocalists who seamlessly bounce off each other before coming together offering amazing harmonies that seem to tie the whole band together. Often hailed as the princes of pop-punk, I present you with Set Your Goals.
Set Your Goals - An Old Book Misread

Having seen Mabbit live and in the flesh, I must to say I was extremely impressed, his performance definitely changing my past opinions of him. However, I'm still Team-Ronnie and therefore miss their old sound.

Also, I got my first official/legit/legally recognised job at Maccas (no, drug running at Chemist Warehouse doesn't count. [Screw them for trying to lower my pay]). During one fateful lunch break, I noticed a distinctly catchy tune playing in the background. I made great haste towards the TV to see who was creating such musical awesomeness. It was none other than... Wave Machines....!!! Don't worry, I'd never heard of them before either. Oh, weird as video too...

You might be asking, "Why the shit now?" Well the answer's pretty simple: 9 assignments due pretty much tomorrow. My perception of my life and the world aroundme have been pretty muddled as of late so let me try and break it down for you over the next couple posts.
Oh and this also makes for good writing practice.
Sorry for stealing picture no. 1.
Also, home-fringe-trims ftw!!!
Cheers,
Butters.
